FLYING: Berlijn

Remember my -painful- break from blogging a couple of months ago? It was somewhere in may when I went to Berlin for work. It was my very first time and I was so looking forward to it!

The Berlin experience far exceeded my very high expectations! The hop on/hop off bus was also a lot of fun, and a great way to discover the city! You can't see the complete city in just a day, but a hop on/hop off bus definitely made things a lot easier!

So here are my belated postcards from Berlin. I hope you like them.

Wanderlust

While I'm already traveling 5 days a week to earn a living, I can't wait till it's time for annual leave! I would love to go back to Thailand and that's on my list for next year. And maybe together with someone special... Who knows! Other plan is to rent a car and drive around in the west part of the United States.

And there is so much more to see! What is up on your must-visit list? Somewhere in europe or...? Do you guys travel a lot? Any other flight attendants out here maybe?

Tomorrow I'm off again and will visit Lyon for the very first time! Ofcourse I'll take my canon with me, so hopefully I'm able to make some pretty pictures. The next day I'll be going to Nice. And since autumn kicked in, I don't think I'll go to the beach. Maybe another visit to Monaco or even Cannes? What do you suggest?

Last of the summer sunshine

While I was nightstopping in one of the biggest sh*tholes (excuse my language) of the Island (England), I noticed the statistics of my blogs were sky high! Plus a lot of new followers too! Reason? girlscene featured my blog, which is pretty awesome!

And with new followers and 5000 pageviews a day, I recieved some interesting emails of company's who would like to cooperate with me. I had to squeeze myself, but it is all real and happening! So stay tuned for lots of fun and new outfits.

This outfit was one which I wanted to wear for a long, long time. It's inspired by the beloved Olivia Palermo, of which I'll make a style bible pretty soon. I hope you like this classic and effortless look.

TRAVEL: Sarutthani en Bangkok

We changed paradise for a long boattrip and nighttrain to my final destination: Bangkok. The journey itself was an awesome experience. I was feeling very sad to leave Koh Samui, but was looking forward to see Bangkok.

After a 2 hour boattrip and another 2,5 hour bustrip, we had to wait for 4 very long hours at the trainstation of Sarutthani, from where our train would depart. We had lots of drinks, great thai food and had silly conversations about life.

The night was filled with even more drinks, karaoke, dancing and with just a little bit of sleep. It was a fun experience, but I felt so filthy afterwards. The toilets were disgusting and I had to wear the same clothes for the entire night. But hey, we managed!

Stay tuned for the last part which will be up next week: Bangkok.

FLYING: Berlijn

Last week I had the chance to visit Berlin. Already knowing it would be my last visit for this year. Every now and then our rosters change and nightstops disappear completely or our main airline is taking them over, and that was the case. Hopefully we'll get Berlin back next year.

So while the other crewmembers decided to stay in the hotel, I went into town. It was my second time in Berlin and during the first time I wasn't able to see it all. I walked past Charlie's checkpoint, went to see the holocaust memorial and had an awesome Vietnamese dinner in a restaurant nearby.

We are young

Do you like doing absolutely nothing all day? I do... sometimes. Since I'm away most of the time, I love to spend time at home. Even though I'm just watching the TV or working on my laptop. I just appreciate my own house, bed and room so much more.

I can't sit still though. Just 2 hours at max before I get the feeling of running around again. So we decided to take pictures and drove towards Wormer for a good background. What do you think of this combination? I noticed that my style has changed alot over the past few months. I feel more comfortable with myself and I'm buying clothes of better quality which is showing off. :)

Because I'm a geek

Allright, I'll admit it: I'm such a dork every now and then. I love watching airplanes take off and land while I'm already at 30.000ft most of the time. I also love cars...

So when my old car broke down, I had do make a decision: invest money in this old car which is not actually worth it or buy a new one. And since I am a sucker for new and shiny stuff, it was easy to come to a decision. Well, just kidding you guys! I felt sorry for my old car actually, I owned it for 4 years. But I do realise a car is just a 'thing' and I desperately need a car for my work as a cabin attendant. Being to late at the airport for a flight is NOT an option.

So I went car shopping and found this beautiful white renault twingo. It's actually an occasion, but it still looks and feels (and smells, haha) new.

I would like to give my car a name (because i'm a geek). Any suggestions?

Grazia PC Catwalk

Better late than never, my pictures from the Grazia PC Catwalk day. This day was organized by the dutch fashion magazine 'Grazia' in order to celebrate their 5th birthday.

We arrived early to see the casting for the catwalk show. We had our make up done, saw the most amazing clothes and went (window)shopping in the most expensive stores. Such an awesome day. I went with one of my best friends who is also a big lover of fashion. We ended the day with a good sandwich.

Later that day I took a train to Utrecht for my third date (no, I'm not writing my posts in a chronological order, I do apologize) which included canoeing and outdoor dining. I was a bit scared at the beginning, but canoeing turned out to be pretty easy and doable. It was yet another amazing date.

A fairytale come true: Efteling

It was more than a week ago, on a bright and sunny monday, when I went to the themepark 'the efteling'. All my other idea's for a date were closed on a monday (like museums and other themeparks), so we searched the internet for a theme park which was actually OPEN on a monday. Monday seems to be the new sunday in the Netherlands.

We drove for an hour to the south of The Netherlands for a magical date. It turned out to be a pretty good and sunny day. We had so much fun. The last time I went to the Efteling was at least 12 years ago, so imagine my happiness :-)

Life is one big rollercoaster ride!

I've set foot on shore

After being away and flying around almost 3 of the past 4 weeks, it was nice to come home. I arrived yesterday and went via a quick pit-stop at home to my date for diner. It was good and cosy, but I was feeling awful! I woke up for 6 days in a row at 4AM, it was extremely early! And I've flown way too many times to count. So it's good to be back in my own bed, and not have to set the alarm clock. I went to Zurich, Nice, Bremen and Bordeaux last week, which was pretty good as always. But the early shifts are so heavy, even when you sleep for 8 hours it's so hard to get up. I can't wait till next week, when I'm finally on a late roster.

Enough complaining. ;) Today it was actually pretty cold, so I decided to wear a nice knitted sweater with thick thights. Hope you like it.

TRAVEL: Thailand, Ang Thong national park

Yes, another Thailand post and definitely not the last one. But Ang Thong is the last part of paradise before I went back to Bangkok.

I can truly say now that I saw the blue lagoon, a.k.a. "paradise". I have no words for the beauty of this park. It's just a thing which I will never, ever forget.

We went to Ang Thong with a speedboat. It was about 30 minutes from Koh Samui and the sea was pretty rough that day. I was sitting at the front part of the boat and almost fell off because of the extremely high waves!

I hope you enjoy the pictures, but be warned for the overload! :)

FLYING: Bologna

I don't think I've ever explained how much I love Italy, right? No, just kidding. When you look at my previous posts, you can defenitely tell how much I adore it! And thank goodness for Bologna on my roster, AGAIN! Yes I've been there quite alot this summer. So why not share my pictures?

FLYING: Keulen

Even though this was not my first nightstop in Cologne, it telt like it. Last time I was there, I was in feeling sick so I stayed in my hotelroom all day. Which is not too bad, since the hotel is pretty awesome (rainshowers included). So I considered this stop as my first time Cologne outside the hotel.

We walked along the bridge with all the locks and enjoyed this beautiful city and the sunshine for the complete afternoon. In the evening we had some drinks and pasta at Vapiano and went to bed early.

FLYING: Aix en Provence

I requested a nightstop in Marseille for such a long time, but unfortunately without any luck. It was during my reserve duty when the opportunity came to spend one more day in Marseille. And since we completely stop flying to Marseille, the luck was finally on my side!

And so I arrived around noon in the beautiful city of Aix en Provence, just 25 mins by car from Marseille. It was 25 degrees, the sun was shining and the sky was blue. Perfect day to swim in the pool and to enjoy a good vin blanc at the 'rotonde', the place to be in Aix. We strolled around and had a lovely diner.

TRAVEL: Thailand, Koh Samui

It's time for the last and final part of my Koh Samui series. Time to leave the island and go back to Bangkok. But first, my last days in Koh Samui. Some of our group members left earlier, or we stayed longer. That's actually the case. Our group of 25 people went down to 10. But it was still a lot of fun and I was very pleased with the people who decided to stay longer.

Two extra days at Koh Samui, better known as the Paradise. Why not?

TRAVEL: Thailand, Koh Samui

Oh yes, my upper legs are more tanned than my lower legs. Don't know what happend here, this is like: totally SH*T! But oh well ;) haha.

It's time for part three but not yet the final part of my Koh Samui Island tour! Be prepared for more nightlife and paradise pictures. What else can I say? We had a delicious dinner AT the beach. Yes people, AT the beach, how totally awesome is that? That has never happend to me before! With bare feet in the still a little bit warm sand looking at firework and listening to relaxed music. Perfect...

Never too late for neon

As some of you might already noticed, I'm not a huge trendfollower, nor a trend setter. I just wear what I love, and love what I wear. Not thinking about if it's in fashion right now.

So a two weeks ago I found this bright neon top in Zara sale for only 5 euro. Had to take it with me, so I bought it. And was finally able to wear it after two days of heavy rainshowers in the Netherlands. It's actually a super cheap outfit. My shorts are from H&M (also sale) for just 4 euro and my sandals are from primark for 2 pounds. What do you think?

TRAVEL: Thailand, Koh Samui

Part II of my Koh Samui posts and there are yet more to come. I've spend most of my days on this beautiful island which resulted in a ton of pictures to edit and to share with you.

The pictures shown below are from the second and third day at the island. We went out and discovered the nightlife scene with lots of prostitutes, sex and outdoor discotheques. Beachparty's were also a big thing on the island.

Before we went out we had a dinner with the complete group (25 people) and we bought the typical thai wish balloons. When the thing goes up in the air (which actually takes a while as well. It needs time to heat up), you need to fold your hands together like a closed Lotus and make a wish. I hope you enjoy my pictures.
